Crab season is here

Crab season just started in the Florida Keys, and lobster season is already in full swing. That means delicious, fresh crab and lobster will be available in the region until early next year. The lobster season ends in March and crab season ends in May.

Stone crab claws are popular here because of the sweet meat inside that can be steamed by restaurants and cracked by hungry visitors for a delicious meal. And nearly 40% of the Florida’s crab harvest comes from the Keys, so there’s plenty to go around here in Key Largo.

That means you’ll be able to find delicious crab and lobster dishes at most of the local restaurants. Whether you’re a regular winter Floridian or you’re just visiting Key Largo for the first time, tasting some of the fresh and local seafood is a must.

Book your site at Riptide RV Resort now to get low weekly and monthly rates, activities and amenities right inside the park, and a warmer winter climate. And make sure to get a plate of crab or lobster claws while you’re here!
